Dear Ambitious but in,

Hi my name is Lanicha and I’m 14 and I have a dream to. im in high school also, at West Jefferson. I live in New Orleans.  I want to go to college to pursue my dream.

I would go to college and make my dream come true. I know that you love him very much but you need to do whats best for you. If he find someone else when you leave there other people other there. I think if you stay and dont go to college and marry him you wil regret it. you’ll see everybody doing what they want to do and telling you how fun it is and you would be like I wish I would have made my dream come true.

Also you will have to depend on other people to do stuff for you. it will also be a bad influnce on your chlidren. they going to think that its right to give up their dreams for other people. and put others before them all the time.

well I hope you do the right thats for you. I wish you the best and good-bye.

Dear Help,

hi my name is Lanicha. Im 14 and in high school.

i think you should tell your friend what happened. sit her down and tell her how you feel. ask her how she feel about Albert. if she feels strongly about him try to help them work it out.

on the other hand if your sure you feel strongly about Albert sit him down and ask him how he really feel about you. Do he feel for your friend.

if they dont feel for eachother then you make it work between you and albert. Im sure your friend will be okay with it. if not then i dont know what to tell you.

An Artifact

In this picture it looks like a woman with different sizes. i think that the picture is saying that all people have different shapes and sizes. that you just have to deal with it. And honestly the lady looks a mess. if i would have to give it a name i dont know what i’ll call it. I think the picture represents women that has low self-esteem. i think it shows them that no matter what size you are your speaical. thats what i think.

Famous Person

If  I  could meet one famous person, it wold be Beyonce, because she’s my favorite singer. we would talk about music, fashion, and a lot of stuff. I would ask her if she really loves what she do and is it harder than it looks. And if she could maybe do a song with me or about me. And then can I maybe preform with her.

Drinks, because I cant drink the water out the ocean. My notebook, because I love to write. And then friends, because I need someone to talk to, I would could crazy if wouldn’t  have anyone to talk to.

A Single Story

Posted on December 8, 2010 in Uncategorized by lanicha221

After watching  the Ted Talk video, I had a different point of view of Africa. I understood what she was talking about. She really had a good point of view, and she explained it really good. Some people don’t explain things good.

She talked about how her houseboy was poor, and she thought him and his family wasn’t cable of nothing. How her mother used to say, “eat your food don’t you know that some families don’t have nothing.” Then when she went to where his family lived she was surprised at how they were able to make things.

Then she talked about how she went to college in the U.S and how everyone thought she was poor. How her professor thought she couldn’t used a stove. Then everyone thought Africa was full of provety and wild animals and stuff.

Like I said after watching it I have a whole different point of view. She said that no one should make up a single story about people. That you should get to know them first before you make up lies. I totally believe.

Inspirations of Booker T. Washington

Posted on November 11, 2010 in Uncategorized by lanicha221

Booker T. Washington was famous for his determination. His determination to get his education and to led other peopleto get one too.He built a school with help of many people. A few people who helped and inspired him are Ms.Ruffner,Nathalie Lord, and his mother. During the rest of my eassay i’m going to explain how they inspired and helped him out during his life time.

Ms.Ruffner taught him the importance of being tidy, because of her he got a job at Hampton. When he went to school he used what Ms.Ruffner taught him to train the students at Hampton. She gave him discipline. That helped him through out his life.

Nathalie Lord. She taught the importance of the bible as spiritual message and literaute.I think she gave him the most hope out of all people in what he do.She gave him spirit ,too. I think she’s the one who really helped him and inspired him.

Last but not least, his mother. She support him with what he wanted to do. She supported him when he went to school. She took care of him ,showed him love. And that helped him show his love to education and to people who wanted it.

All of them and many more inspired him. Also helped him with his school and the success he made. Now i’m going end this perfect eassay with a quote from the one and only,Booker T. Washington. “If you want to lift yourself  up,lift up someone else.”

-Booker T. Washington
